by Brianna Crandall — March 16, 2015—Global facilities services provider ISS has won or expanded outsourcing contracts in different countries in recent weeks including Australia and Sweden, highlighted below.
Australia
ISS Australia has commenced its first Village Management contract in Queensland at Windmill Village in Wandoan. ISS is now providing all support services to run the 447-person village over a three-year contract term. Since January, the ISS team has been providing a full range of services including accommodation management, catering, village cleaning, housekeeping and running the tavern.
ISS Australia is already a market leader in the provision of support services to remote mining villages. Across Western Australia, ISS manages 16 villages for major iron ore mining clients, with more than 1,000 employees and serving over 7.2 million meals per year. ISS says that winning the contract at Windmill Village is a credit to the company’s expertise in establishing the best “village experience” for its customers’ workforce, and that creating a “home away from home” for Windmill residents will no doubt promote village occupancy.
Owned by Shadforth Property Trust, Windmill Village is located near the remote township of Wandoan in central Queensland, approximately 400 km from Brisbane. The modern accommodation complex was established in 2013 to serve clients operating in the Surat Basin Resources Hub. Windmill Village currently includes accommodation rooms, dining facilities, a tavern, laundries and associated facilities to cater for a total of 447 residents, with approval to a total of 715 rooms should demand increase.
Sweden
ISS and ICA Real Estate Sweden recently signed a contract aimed at creating a strategic partnership in the property sector. With the new contract, both companies will expand and deepen their cooperation around technical operations and management of ICA Real Estate shopping sites around Sweden. Over the past four years, ICA Real Estate Sweden and ISS Sweden have reportedly had a successful collaboration aimed at ensuring high reliability and high customer satisfaction among tenants, which includes ICA retailers as well as other retail stores.
The contract will commence May 1 and will run for five years. The two companies say they will work closely together, with a common vision and high transparency. The objective of the agreement is a long-term partnership that aims at increasing customer satisfaction among ICA Real Estate Sweden’s tenants and their customers. It should also lead to a long-term cost optimization and improvements, driven by the individual technicians’ knowledge and experience.
