by AF 1104 g3 — November 9, 2009—Kardex AG, the parent company of Kardex Remstar International, having acquired Kardex Systems, Inc. of Marietta, Ohio, at the beginning of 2009, has now fully merged their operations and renamed the new organization KardexRemstar, Inc.
KardexRemstar Inc., a member of the Kardex Group of Zurich, Switzerland, is a leading provider of automated storage and retrieval systems for manufacturing, distribution and warehousing applications.
The merger has integrated the sales and marketing groups creating a focused presence in North America under the KardexRemstar brand name.
The new KardexRemstar headquarters is located in Westbrook, Maine, with regional offices in California, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. Both operations have been part of the North American market for over 35 years.
The organization’s combined American production group is now located in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Over four million dollars has been invested in 2009 to assure the facility operates as a state-or-the-art manufacturing location that will help expand KardexRemstar growth initiatives over the next few years.
