The group will provide hard and soft facilities management services to over 50 buildings in the west Yorkshire region, varying in size from 50 square meters to more than 3,000 square meters.

Kier Facilities Services will provide mechanical and electrical support; energy and utilities management; grounds maintenance; waste and recycling services; pest control; security; portering and cleaning services; and catering and vending. It will also provide linen and laundry services and operate a 24-hour helpdesk.

Kier was given the task of rationalizing the facilities management service for the Trusts which, together, are responsible for the health care provision of over 600,000 people and employ more than 1,800 staff, and bringing together a number of services that had previously been outsourced or performed in-house.

Kier transferred over 70 staff through the TUPE transfer process and integrated the employees of both third-party suppliers and NHS staff.
