by Shane Henson — June 13, 2012—After washing their hands dozens of times a day to prevent spreading germs, healthcare workers often find their hands super clean but also super dry. To prevent the spread of infection while also preventing chapped skin, Kimberly-Clark Professional has released it Kleenex Ultra Moisturizing Foam Hand Sanitizer. With 70% alcohol content, it is said to be effective against the most common bacteria that can contaminate surfaces and cause infection and to improve skin hydration by 30%.
“This new formulation has been specifically developed with the needs of healthcare workers in mind—a highly effective and nourishing sanitization product that offers protection against bacteria and fungi typically found in healthcare environments,” said Jackie Martin, marketing director, Healthcare Segment, Kimberly-Clark Professional. “The new Kleenex Ultra Moisturizing Foam Hand Sanitizer is cost effective because it delivers nearly twice the number of shots as gel products of the same size. This product will moisturize skin for up to two hours after application. It helps contribute to a safer, healthier and more productive healthcare environment.”
The product also includes these features:
- Sealed system, to eliminate threat of contamination
- High capacity: 1,200 ml refills
- Easy load: cassette clicks into place
- Easy recycling once pump is removed
In a controlled, double-blind study conducted by Kimberly-Clark of 100 nurses, two out of three preferred Kleenex Ultra Moisturizing Foam Hand Sanitizer over Purell Advanced Skin Nourishing Foam, says the company. Preference was determined after three applications of each product.
