by Brianna Crandall — April 7, 2014—Global elevator and escalator manufacturer KONE Inc. has just announced that the company has been awarded a three-year contract to supply elevator and escalator maintenance and services through the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance.
The City and County of Denver, Colorado, served as the lead public agency and awarded KONE the contract after carefully evaluating proposals from several other distributors, according to the company. This is the second contract award for KONE as the elevator service and maintenance provider through U.S. Communities.

The U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance is a national government purchasing cooperative that provides world-class government procurement resources and solutions to local and state government agencies, school districts (K-12), higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations. U.S. Communities was founded in 1996 as a partnership between the Association of School Business Officials, the National Association of Counties, the Institute for Public Procurement, the National League of Cities, and the United States Conference of Mayors.
