The Leatop Plaza office building, at 303 meters, will be the highest building KONE will have supplied in China. The order includes five KONE MonoSpace and 28 KONE MiniSpace elevators, and two KONE TravelMaster escalators. The solutions are designed to ensure an energy-efficient flow of people on the 64 floors of the building and to and from the underground car park and public transportation hub.

Leatop Plaza will use an auto sun-shade tracking system, air-conditioning and elevator energy feedback technology, energy-efficient LED lighting and other cutting-edge technologies for energy efficiency. The building’s simple and transparent main tower, resembling an ice crystal emerging from the ground, is expected to be an important element of the Guangzhou skyline. The building is scheduled for completion in 2010.

KONE is employing its People Flow solutions to make travel easier and safer in two lines of Beijing’s rapidly expanding subway system. KONE’s People Flow concept has already been utilized in the Beijing Capital Airport T3 Terminal, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, and Hongqiao Integrated Transportation Hub.

KONE’s order includes 140 TransitMaster escalators for Line 6, which is under construction and scheduled to be completed in 2014. At 42 km long, it will be longer than any other line in the Chinese capital. KONE will also supply 32 MonoSpace elevators for Line 8, which served the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. The line is being extended and is expected to be operational in 2012.

Four Gate Towers in Abu Dhabi will utilize KONE solutions for a “unique people flow experience” designed to offer residents and visitors excellent ride comfort

KONE will also supply 11 MonoSpace Special platforms, 27 MiniSpace elevators, three TranSys freight elevators, and four TravelMaster escalators for four Gate Towers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Towers 3, 4 and 5 are 65-story buildings and Tower 7 is a 22-story building.

The Gate Towers are part of the Gate District in SHAMS Abu Dhabi development and sit at the entrance of Al Reem Island. Designed to have a stunning presence on the island’s skyline, the towers recently received the “Best High Rise” award by The International Residential Property Awards. They are scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2012.
