Manhattan Software unveils sustainability strategy

by Rebecca Walker — June 7, 2010—Manhattan Software, a global leader in Integrated Workplace Management Solutions (IWMS), announced its sustainability strategy at its annual User Conference at the Marriott Long Wharf in Boston recently.

The Manhattan GREAT (Green Real Estate and Asset Technology) Initiative is an integration of IWMS and GIS technologies, which incorporates time-based information, financials and sustainable best practices, says the company. This evolution from traditional IWMS to sophisticated life-cycle management solutions allows organizations to analyze and model real estate decisions that ensure the most sustainable, economical and productive facilities are being built and renovated all over the world.

GREAT links GIS technologies and IWMS in an economic and productive manner to analyze, model and manage facilities, entire real estate portfolios, operations and maintenance, projects, sustainability and finance.

Besides introducing sustainability best practices into the entire lifecycle of the built environment, Manhattan has created a targeted application for the GREAT Initiative called the Environmental Performance Management (EPM) module. This module is designed for any type of building in an organizations portfolio and provides a tool for energy billing (loading, validation, history, reporting, reconciliation), metering, procurement, financials, consumption reporting, carbon footprint tracking and reporting, and accounting throughout the lifecycle of an asset or building.
