Moroso USA now distributes versatile Audia auditorium and theater seating

by Brianna Crandall — March 14, 2014—The U.S. division of Italy-based furniture manufacturer Moroso recently announced that it has become the North American distributor of a wide range of auditorium and theater seating from Italian company Audia. Although a young company, Audia has reportedly flourished under the direction of owner and founder Marco Spotti, who has specialized in the field of theater seating for over 35 years while also designing seating plans for concert halls, cruise ships, auditoriums, and meeting rooms of all sizes. This marks the first time Audia has been available in North America, notes Moroso.

Highly versatile, the Audia auditorium and theater seating line is entirely customizable, with any of its variety of seats able to fit into nearly any configuration, says Moroso. Most of the seating in the Audia line can be modified through optional armrests, frame finishes, and other design details. Writing tablets, power/data outlets, and other technical modifications are also available for most of the Audia line.

Additionally, Audia provides complete planning and installation services. Moroso says the skilled Audia artisans produce an expertly crafted arrangement that can meet the requirements of any given project no matter its unique demands. Audia seating is also engineered from high quality materials while remaining competitive in price, adds Moroso.

Audia seating was installed in the Conservatory of Music of Aix en Provence in Besançon, France, which was a custom project led by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and completed in mid-2013.

Of note, Audia seating has been installed in the Conservatory of Music of Aix en Provence in Besançon, France, which was a project led by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Kuma and his team worked in collaboration with Audia to design the interior and seating space, and completed this custom project in mid-2013. Further, Moroso has collaborated with Audia on cruise ship seating, including aboard the MV Nave Emerald Princess and on the seating for the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in Dallas, Texas.

Moroso, founded over 60 years ago in Udine, Italy, is reportedly a major player on the Italian and international design scene. Today, under the creative direction of Patrizia Moroso, the company maintains an investigative approach to design, collaborating with designers and artists from around the world.
