by Brianna Crandall — June 17, 2013—Sedia Systems, a leading manufacturer of lecture hall and auditorium furniture, introduced its new JumpSeat Wall and JumpSeat 3D fixed seating products at the NeoCon 2013 contract furnishings show in Chicago June 10-12. JumpSeat Wall was a Silver Award winner in the category of Healthcare: Guest/Lounge Seating at the show’s Best of NeoCon Competition.
Sedia Systems introduced the original JumpSeat chair nationally in 2012 at NeoCon and internationally at Orgatec. The product has reportedly been a huge success since its launch, and Sedia has continued to innovate and enhance the product line.
The original Jump Seat, by Ziba Design, is a compact auditorium chair that is ideal for auditoriums, theaters and public assembly areas. Plywood and steel create the backbone of the JumpSeat’s cantilevered structure. Folding to less than 100mm thick when not in use, the compact seat allows for the maximum amount of people in the minimum amount of space.
JumpSeat, which features a flex spring seat, is available in multiple seat widths and back heights, and can be configured in straight or radius rows and installed in flat, sloped or tiered floors. The product contains FSC-Certified Wood for greater sustainability. Optional features include armrests and an anti-panic writing surface. Finishes come in laminate or veneer, with multiple upholstery options
The new JumpSeat Wall variation is an ideal solution for facilities where seating is needed, but space is constrained. The innovative folding mechanism allows the seat to cantilever off the wall, making it ideal for hospital corridors, waiting rooms and other public areas with limited space for seating.
Jumpseat 3D is another “new and exciting” interpretation of the original product. Three-dimensional upholstered foam, in multiple patterns and colors, transforms the JumpSeat into a work of art while providing comfortable seating.
