Both the Deconstructed Black and Deconstructed Metal carpet tile collections debuted at NeoCon. Characterized by new patent-pending manufacturing technology that exposes the primary backing as part of the product design, Deconstructed is intended to create heightened awareness of product engineering, makimg visible the raw elements that impact how the product functions in a space.

Inspired by a study of transparency, patterns emerge through exposed primary backing and a variation in fiber pile heights. Products feature a depth of visual variance and texture that moves beyond traditional pattern design and bears light on the technology required to construct the product, explains Patcraft.

Revealing the primary backing creates a sophisticated visual while providing a high-performance product suitable for a wide range of applications. Constructed of Solution Q Extreme fiber and EcoWorx tile backing, products are designed to yield long-term appearance retention and durability, and will repel acid-based stains, allowing most common spills to be cleaned with water, says Patcraft.

The Deconstructed Black collection includes three 24″ x 24″ carpet tiles available in 12 colors: Dismantle, Disrupt and Displace. Patterns emerge from an exposed black primary backing and a variation in fiber pile heights. The Innovation Award-winning Deconstructed Metal collection include three 18″ x 36″ carpet tiles: Metallic Alchemy, Alloy Shimmer and Anodized Metal. The colorway is comprised of six different yarn combinations that mix ith three metallic backings for a total of 18 colors. Exposing the metallic primary backing beneath the carpet fiber creates subtle light reflectance in a space.

“These collections reflect our view of performance, which extends beyond how products withstand the physical demands of an environment, but to also include how they support human performance, including productivity, health and wellness,” said Patcraft vice president of marketing, Jeff West.

Exposing the primary backing is a visual interpretation of transparency, while the material assessment of product components represent its sustainable dimension, says the company. As Cradle to Cradle certified products, ingredients have been evaluated for human and ecological health down to 100 parts per million. All Deconstructed products are 100 percent recyclable and offer guaranteed recycling.
