by Jbs081910 b3 — August 23, 2010—Standards provider ASTM International has published a new standard, ASTM D7641, Guide for Textile Fibers, that provides a comprehensive guide to a large variety of fibers used to manufacture many textile products and that can be useful in meeting sustainability or other design goals.
According to ASTM, the new standard is intended to be a valuable resource to help designers, buyers, test laboratories, educators, students and regulators better understand the relationship between commercial names, fiber identification and the geographical regions of fiber origins.
