by Brianna Crandall — May 12, 2014—Werner, manufacturer of professional and consumer ladders and climbing equipment, has announced the launch of the Podium Ladder, which the company calls “an entirely new category of ladder.” The new ladder is designed to provide four times the work zone, allowing users to face any direction while comfortably accessing the job at hand.
The PD6200 Series Podium Ladder features an extra-large platform with a toe guard to provide maximum comfort, and an extended guardrail that securely wraps around the work zone while holding an arsenal of tools, points out Werner, a brand of WernerCo, the international manufacturer and distributor of climbing products; fall protection equipment; and jobsite, truck and van storage equipment.
“We designed our new Podium Ladder to help prevent misuse and falls,” said Mark Peters, director of marketing at WernerCo. “While safety is the most important feature, we also know that comfort, mobility and access are important to our customers who have to stand on a ladder for extended periods of time. The new Podium Ladder includes an actual standing platform vs. a traditional ladder step that allows for increased reach and range of motion. The best part, it feels like the user is standing on the ground instead of on a ladder.”
Through continued focus on creating safety solutions at any height, Werner has developed this “entirely new” Podium Ladder. One of the most significant benefits of this design is how easily it allows the user to reach traditionally difficult areas, therefore maximizing productivity, points out the company. The waist-high guardrail and the larger platform surface also deliver more comfort for the professional user who is often required to stand on a ladder for prolonged periods of time.
The new Podium guardrail securely and conveniently organizes tools and accessories at the top of the ladder—where they are needed. The functional top is also transformed to serve as a wraparound guardrail for total freedom of movement. The Podium Ladder also features the newly designed Edge360 bracing system, which increases the size of the ladder foot pad, braces the first step, and provides protection at every angle.
The PD6200 Series Podium Ladder product page features two videos explaining the features of the new ladder and how they can increase the safety and comfort of construction, maintenance and specialty trades professionals.
