by Rebecca Walker — October 12, 2008—Annually, more than three million wooden dollies are purchased at loss of more than 175,000 trees. Samson Cart is introducing Samson Dollies that fully recyclable.
The Samson Dolly, using the identical technology of the environmentally award winning Samson Cart, addresses design criteria not previously considered in other dollies currently on the market, says the company. Among other things, the modular design allows easy replacement of broken components, and it is approximately 40% the weight of standard wooden dollies.
The manufacturing process, which uses natural gas, is an environmentally friendly alternative to off-shore deforestation and manufacturing.
Samson Carts was recognized by the EPA for agreeing to purchase more than 220,000 kilowatt hours of green electric power annually – more than 50% of the organizations electric use.
The company’s environmental product design intent has validated by the recent passing of a third party testing lab for low-emitting products and Samson Carts is currently listed on the GREENGUARD low-emitting Web site, becoming the first plastic material handling product to be “Green” certified by an independent environmental design organization, MBDC.
