SimplexGrinnell, a unit of Tyco Fire and Security Services, recently unveiled the new Simplex 4100U Fire Detection and Alarm Platform—a high-end, next-generation network system that combines superior fire protection and information management with lower costs of installation, maintenance, and ownership.
The system offers customers expanded point capacity, digital voice communications, advanced built-in diagnostics, dual operating software, Internet connectivity, and an alarm response time of less than two seconds—far exceeding the National Fire Protection Association’s twenty-second requirement. Because of its distributed network capabilities, the system is ideal for the special protection requirements found in high-rise office towers and multi-building facilities such as hospitals, college campuses, industrial plants, sports complexes, and airports.
SimplexGrinnell also released the Simplex 4290 Information Management System (IMS), a Windows-based graphical management system for managing and controlling networked fire alarm systems in large facilities or campus environments. The IMS is designed for any fire alarm environment where two or more controls panels are linked. It accepts information from thousands of detectors, notification appliances, and other network devices, and gives customers the ability to easily and effectively manage their fire alarm environment. The IMS can be used with the Simplex 4100U fire alarm platform as well as older Simplex systems and systems from other vendors and manufacturers.
