by Brianna Crandall — June 19, 2020 — Global furniture and technology provider Steelcase unveiled several products for this year’s virtual NeoCon event, including a private work both and a configurable powerstrip with optional cable management, highlighted below.
Coppice work booth
Coppice is a stand-alone, single-occupancy work booth designed to provide a high level of acoustic comfort in order to increase the productivity of those doing focused work tasks. Coppice provides a solution for when office workers need to focus, offering differently configured personal booths designed to combat noise distractions in the open-plan workplace.
Coppice has been designed so that a small number of components can facilitate a wide range of configurations, providing varying degrees of privacy to suit different tasks. Five key smart panels can be combined to suit multiple scenarios and offer diverse planning options, each of which allows for the creation of a density of “private space” within a small footprint.
Coppice work booths offer a stripped-down palette of materials and colors. The felt panels not only have excellent acoustic properties, they also obviate the need for additional foams and fabrics on the main boards.
Coppice’s simplicity and smart design makes the integration of power and data easy and direct, says Steelcase. In all configurations, cables pass between the panels and are free to travel both horizontally and vertically. Ease of access means they can also be retrofitted easily, and as cables are concealed in the cavity behind the pressed felt panels, the clean look isn’t compromised.
Powerstrip Plus and Universal Cable Manager
Available in multiple configurations, Steelcase Powerstrip Plus provides various options for easily powering all types of devices above the worksurface. With tech devices ruling the workday, Steelcase Powerstrip Plus enables every desk to become an inviting place to plug in. USB-C, USB-A and standard power outlets come together in a variety of configurations and colors.
Powerstrip Plus works above the worksurface and below, where it provides discreet utility outlets. Everything connects to a single UL-listed cord to the floor.
The Steelcase Powerstrip Plus can be paired with the Steelcase Universal Cable Management Kit to neatly gather cords, power bricks and outlets beneath the desk in a fold-open tray.
The Steelcase Universal Cable Management Kit mounts beneath worksurfaces with a hinged design that flips down to provide easy access to cords and cables when needed, and keeps the workspace neat and organized. The cable management tray mounts discreetly under all Steelcase worksurfaces, whether fixed or height-adjustable.
