Tandus Flooring approves CFR carpet extractors for cleaning its products

by Rebecca Walker — May 23, 2011—Tandus Flooring, one of the oldest and largest flooring manufacturers in the United States, has approved CFR’s Pro 500 and Cascade 20 carpet extractors for use on its products.

Tandus Flooring creates floorcovering solutions through a product line of Powerbond, modular, broadloom and woven products that work in tandem to enhance spaces for learning, working, healing and living.

In the testing, CFR’s Pro 500, featuring patented Moisture Controlled Technology, recovered 93.7 percent of the solution applied. In that same testing, CFR’s Cascade 20 recovered 97.2 percent of the solution applied.

CFR stands for Continuous Flow Recycling. Unlike conventional extractors, these CFR systems recycle and filter water/solution so that it can be used up to seven times, while still effectively removing soils from carpets and fabrics.

The process can increase worker productivity significantly.

Both of the systems honored by Tandus Flooring include the patented, low-moisture atomization wand technology.

“This really is a great honor,” says Michael Schaffer, senior executive with Tacony Corporation, owners of CFR and Tornado Industries. “Tandus is a fine organization and we value their thoughts on our machines. [We] are very pleased to learn they have approved CFR for use on Tandus Flooring products.”
