by Brianna Crandall — September 2, 2013—The ISS Slovakia branch of global facilities services provider ISS, has successfully extended its existing contract with U.S. Steel Košice to provide a wide range of outsourced facilities services. With the newly signed contract, ISS Slovakia will continue delivering cleaning of all U.S. Steel Košice office and production buildings, including production facilities and some manufacturing machines. ISS will also provide outdoor winter cleaning, summer maintenance and landscaping as well as support services.
Founded in 1901, United States Steel Corporation is the largest integrated steel producer headquartered in the United States, with major production operations in the United States, Canada and Central Europe and an annual raw steelmaking capability of 29.3 million net tons. The company manufactures a wide range of value-added steel sheet and tubular products for the automotive, appliance, container, industrial machinery, construction, and oil and gas industries. U.S. Steel has over 200,000 employees globally and around 10,000 at its factory in Košice.
Country manager of ISS in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Jan Boháček, said, “The industry and manufacturing sector is one of the three top prioritized customer segments in Slovakia.
