by Shane Henson — June 30, 2014—Upsite Technologies, developer of data center airflow management solutions used around the world, recently announced the commercial availability of AisleLok Modular Containment. According to the company, its modular containment solution and line of aisle airflow management products are specifically designed to block airflow, ensuring hot and cold aisle separation.
Originally unveiled earlier this year at Data Center World in Las Vegas, Upsite’s AisleLok Modular Containment has successfully improved the airflow conditions at a number of early adopter data centers, the company says. Since no custom construction is required, the sites have experienced no disruption, while saving valuable time. Additionally, when compared with traditional containment offerings, AisleLok’s low cost and highly flexible offering enables data center managers to easily scale for full implementation across the entire computer room.
According to Upsite, AisleLok Modular Containment is a highly flexible, re-deployable containment solution that:
- Can be applied to either hot or cold aisles;
- Can be self-installed in minutes;
- Can quickly and easily be reconfigured to new aisles without third-party labor for installation; and
- Provides easy access to all equipment and infrastructure as needed.
The two main components of the AisleLok Modular Containment are the Rack Top Baffle and the Bi-Directional Doors, with an optional Rack Gap Panel. The Rack Top Baffle can be purchased in either a 30-degree angle (from horizontal) position or in a vertical 90-degree angle (from horizontal) position. Both components attach directly to the racks magnetically. The open-sealing design prevents aisle over-pressurization, and its elegant appearance brings a professional aesthetic to the facility, says Upsite Technologies.
