Works are ongoing to complete Phases 2 and 3, which include a £10 million refurbishment of part of the old hospital estate and completion of external works.
The hard FM service is being delivered as part of a 40-year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) agreement that includes the provision of estates management, M&E and fabric maintenance, cyclical works, grounds maintenance and waste management; all performance managed via a 24/7 onsite help desk that is available 365 days a year.
Vinci Construction UK, part of the New Hospitals Consortium, was awarded the design, build and operate contract in 2006 to build two new hospitals for St. Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Vinci Facilities also recently secured a £5 million contract to provide a total FM service at the Somerset Oncology Centre. Under the agreement, Vinci Facilities will provide a wide range of integrated services including cleaning, catering, M&E, landscaping, reception and security, with the mission of providing a high-performing building.
