by Shane Henson — February 6, 2013—Wallcovering designer Wolf-Gordon has released a new collection of Type II vinyl wallcoverings that feature 17 new and revisited designs in four different categories: Textile Looks, Striated Patterns, Vertical Embosses, and Surface Effects.
According to Wolf-Gordon, each pattern within its Vescom Vanguard 05 collection is offered in a generous selection of the basics—white, beiges, and neutrals, making them a great choice for healthcare facilities and corporate environments. However, says the company, the collection’s core achievement is the wide spectrum of colors offered for each design, ensuring that facilities managers seeking a livelier look will also have abundant choices.
Following current commercial interior trends, the Vescom Vanguard collection embodies the quality of fabrics, coming in silk, textile, canvas, and linen interpretations in a variety of colors and bold graphics, says Wolf-Gordon. Other designs transform a wall from a simple plaster look into a strong nature-inspired texture through an embossing process that creates wood and stone coloration designs.
A few of the wallcoverings in the collection include:
Textile Looks: These easy-to-live-with patterns take their cues from woven fabrics, responding to the appeal of simple, homespun materials and the comfort they provide.
- Albert: A small-scale cotton textile with the appearance of a classic Oxford cloth premiering in 27 colorways
- Lucerne: A linen design in a rich palette of neutrals and perfectly weathered hues
Striated Patterns: Horizontal stripes of closely related colors imbue each of these designs with a sense of tranquility.
- Kelli: An exotic silk brushed with metallic threads in neutrals and rich chromatics
- Tempe: A raw silk interpretation that creates surface interest in an array of warm and cool neutrals complemented by vibrant earth tones
Surface Effects: This mélange of vinyls all sport their own unique appearance, each suited to distinctive interior treatments.
- Badin: Tactile and rustic, this deep emboss changes in different lighting conditions. Colorways are mostly stone tones with yellow and lavender alternatives, all punctuated with metallic glints
- Melvin: A very dry surface emboss turns this simple plaster look into a rich suede texture in 27 colorways
Vertical Embosses: Moving to an upright position, each of these wall coverings has a strong linear quality, enhanced by unique vertical imprints.
- Barrett: A vertical print resembling a weathered wood enhanced by a strong metallic vertical emboss
- Holt: A second weathered-wood look in this volume offers a softer alternative in neutrals and wood-stained colorways, reinforced by a strong vertical emboss
