One is the One-Tap Metering Aerator—a hygienic, water-conscious solution for converting a standard faucet into a low-flow metering faucet. The other is the eco-friendly hand-washing STOKO Refresh 4-in-1 Dispenser, which works in conjunction with Refresh 4-in-1 foaming soaps and hand sanitizers to provide more washes per refill. Designed to fulfill the water management and germ control requirements of building owners and facilities executives, both products were displayed at the Greenbuild 2011 convention. The expo, held in Toronto early October, showcased a wide variety of innovative green products.
An important part of Encore’s approach in designing products is to go beyond developing water-saving devices. The company’s philosophy is based on knowing how the products are used, and beyond that, how maintenance crews can service them with relative ease. For example, Encore sensors are on the side of the faucet, which makes it less likely to be covered by soap and thus stop working; or if service is needed, all parts of the faucet are above the sink, making it easy to take apart for service.
Encore’s One-Tap Metering Aerator offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive electronic faucets. Water flow starts with a single touch, and the adjustable metering activator automatically stops the flow in 2 to 20 seconds. This action reduces the risk of cross-contamination and provides up to 87 percent water savings over conventional faucets. The low cost, ease of use, and simple installation is designed as the perfect enhancement to any hand sink faucet. The One-Tap Metering Aerator comes complete with tamper-proof housing, an installation/adjustment key, and a 15/16-27 by 55/64-27 female thread adapter to fit most standard faucets with aerators.
Encore’s STOKO Refresh 4-in-1 Dispenser works in conjunction with Refresh 4-in-1 foaming soaps and hand sanitizers to provide more washes per refill. The environmentally friendly hand-washing solution is reportedly easy to operate and quick to refill. The Refresh 4-in-1 Dispenser is a single dispensing system for foam, liquid, gel or spray skin care products, using any product on the market. The design, says the company, allows the operator to switch products at any time, unlike other systems on the market that can only be used to dispense one type of product.
Made out of a stylish and durable high-impact plastic housing with universal wall-mounting brackets, dispensers are available in black or white and hold 500 milliliters or 1000 milliliters of Refresh 4-in-1 foaming soaps and hand sanitizers. Refresh 4-in-1 refills feature a unique Hygeni-Lok recyclable valve and bottle system. By replacing both the valve and bottle with each refill, the chance of cross-contamination is reduced and cleanliness of the dispenser is maintained. Among available skin care products are foam moisturizing or antibacterial soap and foam, gel or spray hand sanitizers. The Refresh 4-in-1 Dispenser offers the option of a secure key-entry or convenient push-button opening mechanism. The dispenser is also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
